Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are used to rejuvenate the skin and to restore even texture and tone.  Different types of peels can be used to target one’s specific concerns.   All peels are done in a series and should be accompanied by a regimen of daily skin care in order to achieve desired results.

If one is concerned primarily with fine lines and skin texture, then glycolic acid peels are ideal.  Jessners solution is used in patients that want to target brown spots and to even out skin tone.  Salicylic acid peels can help acne prone skin and improve the appearance of dilated pores.

An evaluation by our physician is performed prior to intiating any series of chemical peels in order to determine the ideal peel and skin care regimen.

If you are considering chemical peels please avoid the use of retinoids (retin A, renova, tretinoin, tazorac, adapalene, retinol) during the week prior to the peel and exercise strict sun protective practices.
